Hall of Fame: Jackie Protz

The second inductee into the 2016 Coles County Dragway USA Hall of Fame would have to be right up there on the list of most times traveled across that famed bridge at the bottom of the hill Her job titles, duties, and names that this person has had over the years is endless and has touched nearly every single person at CCD.  Mother, Grandmother, Wife, Racer, our Chaplain but that just doesn’t do justice to the impact she has had on so many at CCD. Most of you know her from being the hand you needed, or the shoulder to lean on.  A few years back, she was handing out the “hurtin” as a racer, but even though just as competitive as anyone, her good nature always made it tough to hold a loss against her  and while she did give racers fits when she was competing, she has guided many of us through some of the most troubling times of our life with kindness, wisdom, and prayer.  Always using her words, “in Jesus name we pray, Amen, and God Bless America, Amen”......  2016 Hall of Fame inductee, Mrs. Jackie Protz
